New Grad, Entry LevelCalhoun Liberty Hospital is seeking a Registration Clerk to manage patient registration and related clerical tasks. The role involves greeting patients, collecting demographic information, verifying insurance, and handling payments, while ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.

Responsibilities
Greet patients and visitors, determine purpose of visit, providing appropriate direction
Notify clinical staff or department of patient/visitor presence as needed
Collect patient demographic information, inputting data into EMR accurately
Complete registration information into EMR accurately and efficiently
Verify insurance information and allowable benefits for services
Obtain authorization, precertification and/or provider referral, if appropriate
Determine method of payment for services
Collect payment from patients for copayments, deductibles and private pay visits
Organize charts and in manner appropriate to department
Enter IP/SWB/OP admissions as needed for specific departments
Complete and maintain required manual/EMR patient logs as required for specific departments
Answer phones, transferring calls if needed in a timely manner
Assist as needed with special projects, assignments or other duties as assigned
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Graduate or equivalent
Previous clerical experience, preferable in a healthcare setting
Proficiency in MS Word and data entry
Good Communication and Listening Skills
Must be able to speak, read and write the English language
