Responsibilities
Maintain, diagnose, and repair industrial refrigeration systems, including ammonia and/or Freon systems
Perform preventive maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, and valves
Monitor system operation and respond promptly to alarms and emergency conditions
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, IIAR, and applicable food safety regulations
Safely manage refrigerants while maintaining accurate logs and documentation
Assist with system startups, shutdowns, and equipment upgrades
Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to reduce downtime
Participate in on-call rotations and emergency response activities
Qualification
Required
Maintain, diagnose, and repair industrial refrigeration systems, including ammonia and/or Freon systems
Perform preventive maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, and valves
Monitor system operation and respond promptly to alarms and emergency conditions
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, IIAR, and applicable food safety regulations
Safely manage refrigerants while maintaining accurate logs and documentation
Assist with system startups, shutdowns, and equipment upgrades
Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to reduce downtime
Participate in on-call rotations and emergency response activities
Knowledge of screw and reciprocating compressors
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical documentation
EPA Universal Certification required
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotation
Ability to work in cold, hot, and wet environments
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights
Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
Preferred
5+ years of industrial refrigeration experience (food or cold storage preferred)
Hands-on experience with ammonia (NH3) systems strongly preferred
CIRO, RETA, or similar certifications a plus
