Responsibilities
Create, revise, and maintain detailed 2D mechanical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks CAD software
Apply ASME Y14.5-2018 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards to ensure precision and manufacturability
Prepare technical documentation, including manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, technical data packages, and bills of materials (BOMs)
Ensure all new and existing drawings adhere to the ASME Y14 series of standards
Ensure all part drawings appropriately mark all dimensions and features that are critical to function
Develop and maintain drawing templates and standards to improve efficiency
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand design intent and ensure accuracy of drawings
Perform design reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards
Maintain accurate records of drawing revisions and exports
Support on-going production of mechanical assemblies and prototyping of mechanical components
Qualification
Required
US Citizen
2-4+ years of experience in mechanical drafting and design
Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software and Solidworks PDM
Strong knowledge of ASME Y14 and specifically ASME Y14.5-2018 GD&T standards
Experience with creating detailed technical drawings and 3D models for manufacturing, assembly, and logistics
Knowledge or experience with CNC machining, injection molding, and other standard manufacturing processes
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Experience in defense industry
Certification in GD&T (ASME Y14.5) or related credentials
Certification in Solidworks (CSWA, CSWP, or CSWE)
