Responsibilities
Defend carriers in premises liability and auto accident claims from initial policy review and investigation through full discovery and motion practice
Draft and argue motions to dismiss, summary judgment, and Daubert challenges in NY Supreme Court and federal venues, incorporating expert analyses on causation and damages
Conduct depositions of plaintiffs, treating physicians, and adverse witnesses to establish contributory negligence and policy exclusions
Manage case evaluations and client reporting on exposure risks, coordinating with adjusters on settlement strategies and trial alternatives
Prepare and second-chair jury trials in high-stakes liability matters, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, and closing arguments
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active New York State Bar admission
2+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation
Strong understanding of premises liability and auto accident claims
Experience drafting and arguing motions in NY Supreme Court and federal venues
Ability to conduct depositions and manage case evaluations
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively
