Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day human resources operations for a fully remote workforce
Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including coordination with payroll, benefits, and IT access
Administer benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Support hiring managers with recruiting coordination, application processing, and offer workflows
Maintain employee records and documentation in HR and payroll systems
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations questions and concerns
Support performance review cycles, including 90-day and annual reviews
Assist in the development, documentation, and implementation of HR policies and procedures
Coordinate with leadership to support workforce planning and organizational growth
Operate fully remotely while maintaining availability during core business hours (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM Eastern)
Qualification
Required
Prior experience in human resources or people operations roles
Strong working knowledge of HR compliance, benefits administration, and employee relations
Experience supporting remote or distributed workforces
Ability to manage sensitive employee information with discretion and professionalism
U.S. citizenship is required
Ability to successfully undergo and maintain a federal Public Trust background investigation
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Experience supporting organizations operating under federal or government contracting requirements
Familiarity with HRIS and payroll platforms such as Gusto
Experience scaling HR operations in a growing organization
Knowledge of multi-state employment compliance
Ability to build HR processes and documentation in evolving environments
