Research Analyst II

The Mind Research Network is dedicated to advancing the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness and brain injury. They are seeking a Research Analyst II to assist in the collection and analysis of MRI-based imaging data and clinical data, as well as prepare reports for scientific communication. The role also involves working with MRI machine operations and maintaining biomedical imaging equipment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the collection and analysis of MRI-based imaging data, clinical data, proteomic data, and the preparation of various graphs/reports for scientific communication
Work with MRI machine operations, maintenance of various biomedical imaging equipment at the scanner, and the scanning of human research participants
Provide on-site training to run MRI scanners and perform data analyses
Interact with various sensitive patient populations and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Accommodate flexible hours including some evenings and nights to facilitate data acquisition and other related duties as needed

Required

Strong quantitative/computation/statistical skills
Working knowledge of time-series analysis and data processing
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, various Google and spreadsheet applications
Ability to learn department-specific computer systems
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Flexible hours including some evenings and nights to accommodate data acquisition and other related duties as needed
Bachelors' degree in an engineering field, computational neuroscience, computer science, statistics or a related scientific discipline
6 months of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with a variety of programming languages including, but not limited to, Linux/Unix, Python, Matlab and R
Familiarity with neuroimaging techniques and time-series analysis
Familiarity with neuroanatomy and neurophysiology
Superior professional-level written and verbal communication skills
High degree of professionalism, excellent judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Demonstrated ability in managing a wide variety of complex tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting multiple deadlines
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team

Preferred

Strong data visualization skills
Background knowledge and/or experience with UNIX, LINUX, Python, R, MATLAB
