Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Sterling Engineering is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of mechanical systems across various project types. The role involves overseeing designs from conceptual development through final documentation and coordinating with project stakeholders to ensure alignment with goals and client expectations.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for various project types across commercial, industrial, and specialty environments
Oversee mechanical system designs from conceptual development through final documentation and project turnover
Apply knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices in mechanical system design
Perform mechanical load calculations using approved engineering methodologies
Coordinate with internal and external project stakeholders to ensure design alignment with project goals and client expectations
Prepare design, permit, and construction documentation using 3D modeling tools such as Revit and/or AutoCAD
Contribute to project planning and conceptual design efforts, including support for project proposals and early-stage engineering activities
Support construction activities by reviewing RFIs, submittals, and addressing field issues as needed
Participate in the development and refinement of internal standards, processes, and training programs
Qualification
Required
7–20 years of experience in mechanical system design
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline
Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
Strong understanding of relevant codes, standards, and mechanical system design principles
