Electrical Engineers (All Levels) – Distribution Transformer Design
CTS International is actively seeking Electrical Engineers at various levels to support their client’s industry-leading engineering team specializing in distribution transformer design. These remote contract roles focus on developing essential power infrastructure for residential, commercial, and industrial applications across North America.
Responsibilities
Design transformer electrical configurations (delta, wye, series/parallel) up to 35kV
Perform calculations for losses, impedance, voltage regulation, and BIL
Specify transformer accessories including tap changers, bushings, arrestors
Develop electrical BOMs, nameplate data, and wiring/connection diagrams
Ensure compliance with IEEE, CSA, ANSI, IEC, and DOE standards
Support product validation including dielectric, impulse, and short-circuit testing
Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
5–10+ years of experience in electrical distribution systems or transformer design
Proficiency with CAD, FEA, and electrical simulation tools
Strong working knowledge of IEEE, CSA, ANSI, IEC, and DOE standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
