Responsibilities

Prepare detailed, accurate electrical cost estimates for complex infrastructure and utility projects
Develop and analyze cost estimates for electrical systems, including conduit, duct banks, and related underground infrastructure
Review and evaluate electrical contractor change order proposals
Support and participate in negotiations related to electrical scope, pricing, and cost impacts
Analyze cost drivers and prepare clear, defensible cost justifications and backup documentation
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and client stakeholders to resolve cost-related issues
Ensure estimates and evaluations align with project scope, contract terms, and applicable industry standards

Required

Demonstrated hands-on experience in electrical cost estimating for infrastructure, utility, or large capital projects
Experience reviewing and evaluating contractor pricing and change orders
Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce clear, defensible cost documentation
Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred

Experience estimating or supporting electrical duct bank or underground utility systems
Background working in a consulting, owner-representative, or public-sector environment
Prior experience supporting the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) or other public agencies
Familiarity with large-scale public infrastructure, utility, or municipal capital programs
