Learn to examine and audit basic tax returns and other related documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with WV law
Verifying the accuracy of return filings utilizing well established rules and procedures
Corresponding and communicating with taxpayers in writing or on the phone regarding issues and questions related to tax filings
Learn to utilize the integrated tax system to accomplish everyday tasks along with other office computer applications
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding taxpayer information
Perform related work as required
Qualification
Required
Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university
High school diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years of experience at the State Tax Division
two (2) years of experience in providing accounting support and/or clerical office support for the required training
good written and oral communication skills

ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding taxpayer information
ability to learn to examine and audit basic tax returns and other related documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with WV law
ability to verify the accuracy of return filings utilizing well established rules and procedures
ability to correspond and communicate with taxpayers in writing or on the phone regarding issues and questions related to tax filings
ability to learn to utilize the integrated tax system to accomplish everyday tasks along with other office computer applications
successful completion of a fingerprint-based criminal-background check
successful completion of a tax compliance check
Preferred
familiar with Microsoft Excel
familiar with Google applications including Sheets and Docs
