Payroll Specialist 1
The State of Alaska is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their Statewide Payroll Production team. This role involves ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, conducting data analysis, and assisting with various payroll-related tasks, all while utilizing Excel for data management.

Responsibilities
The incumbent serves as part of the Statewide Payroll Production team and assists with maintaining compliance with state and Federal statutes regarding employment
This position conducts data analysis and research to ensure accurate recording and reporting of payroll transactions, assists with systems testing, and completes tasks related to taxation, direct deposit recalls, stop pay/reissuance of payroll warrants, and completion of special projects related to payroll production
The incumbent will work heavily in Excel to review large data sets and take actions utilizing spreadsheet reports

This position is open to Alaska Residents only

The incumbent will work heavily in Excel to review large data sets and take actions utilizing spreadsheet reports
Familiarity with Excel formatting and formulas is essential to success in this role

Equivalent to those typically gained by: Journey technical experience processing payroll actions, reviewing error reports, resolving related conflict, reconciling dollar figures, reporting errors, and using a web-based database application
AND/OR Training or education in accounting, computer science, information technology, business management, or a related field
