FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST
The U.S. Defense Finance and Accounting Service is seeking a Financial Management Analyst to analyze and evaluate financial processes and ensure compliance with regulations. The role involves quality control examinations and the interpretation of guidelines to enhance financial management objectives.

Responsibilities
Analyzes, plans, and evaluates directorate functions to determine validity, propriety, accuracy, and adequacy of work processes
Examines a wide variety of documents, records, and related reports, and processes, to determine whether performance has been in accordance with GAO procedures and appropriate regulations
Interprets applicable guidelines and regulations to assist in implementation of approved/directed internal procedural changes to accomplish financial management objectives
Performs quality control examinations of operations, policies, procedures, and internal controls including the analysis of data and information with the objective to prevent and detect deficiencies in the operation of functional area systems
Duties will be developmental in nature when the position is filled below the full performance level (GS-11)

Obtain/Maintain Financial Management Certification
This national security position requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of a GS-05 within the federal service
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the federal service performing financial systems analysis
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the federal service performing complex data analysis and evaluation of financial systems
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work
This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Level 2 Certification under the DoD Financial Management (FM) Certification Program as a condition of employment
Preferred
One full year of graduate level education or Superior Academic Achievement may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement for GS-7
A Master's or equivalent graduate level degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement for GS-9
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement for GS-11
