Procurement Buyer

Responsibilities
Experienced professional individual contributor on a team Typically works on purchasing activities valued up to $500,000. May be assigned higher value tasks with oversight from more senior level staff
Must comply with corporate policies, procedures, and underlying Federal, state, and/or local regulations concerning the purchase and/or shipment of goods, materials, and services
Review requisition, solicit/evaluate bid, recommend and select supplier for award of purchase orders
Negotiate price, quality, delivery and other terms and conditions. Perform oversight on all awarded purchase orders until delivery/completion of goods/services
Coordinate and prioritize activities in a fast-paced environment. Recruit and maintain responsive suppliers providing high quality products and services at fair and reasonable prices
Negotiate with suppliers and settles damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering change orders
Qualification
Required
Experience in Costpoint and P2P systems is a plus
Knowledge of FAR, DFAR and GSA Schedules
Typically has a University Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and 3+ years of related purchasing experience
Experience completing milestones and working toward multiple deadlines
Excel and Word Document skills
Preferred
Highly organized with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
