Corporate Counsel, Real Estate/Colocation - AWS
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented commercial real estate lawyer to fill the position of Legal Counsel – Real Estate/Colocation. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex real estate agreements, providing legal counsel on transactions, and managing external counsel relationships to support AWS's data center portfolio.

Responsibilities
Structure, draft, and negotiate complex real estate agreements supporting AWS's worldwide data center portfolio
Provide comprehensive legal counsel on transactional matters, interpreting contracts with precision and strategic insight
Manage external counsel relationships and oversee portfolio of real estate transactions
Develop and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and legal operations
Resolve legal challenges in commercial relationships and handle pre-litigation inquiries
Qualification
Required
5+ years of legal experience
Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of real estate transactional documents (i.e. leases, lease amendments, purchase and sale agreements, easements, development agreements, co-ownership agreements etc.)
Preferred
Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
