Director of Creative & Communications
turn is a culture-driven consumer brand built around feeling, flavor, and experience. The Director of Creative & Communications will own how turn thinks, speaks, and launches, managing copy, campaign strategies, and ensuring brand integrity across all channels.

Responsibilities
Own and evolve turn’s brand voice, tone, and narrative across all touch points
Develop campaign ethos and messaging frameworks for major initiatives and product lines
Ensure consistency across regulated, hemp, retail, E-Commerce, app, and experiential channels
Protect brand integrity while allowing creative evolution
Lead marketing strategy for all product launches including hardware, oil, flavors, apparel, and limited editions
Translate technical specs and formulations into clear consumer-facing value propositions
Build and manage launch timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional alignment
Ensure launches are market-ready across sales, retail, digital, app, and customer service
Own cannabinoid education across marketing including THC, THCa, THCp, CBD, CBN, THCv, CBG, live resin, rosin, and distillate
Translate complex science into accurate, accessible consumer education
Maintain compliance-safe language without sacrificing clarity or credibility
Serve as internal subject-matter expert for education, positioning, and claims
Own copy strategy for turn.me, E-Commerce sites, app surfaces, and landing pages
Write and oversee PDPs, bundles, feature callouts, and conversion-focused copy
Collaborate closely with design and UX so copy works within layouts
Optimize messaging for clarity, compliance, and performance
Define and manage blog and educational content strategy
Research, write, edit, and maintain SEO-driven content
Balance search performance with brand voice and credibility
Establish editorial standards, workflows, and cadence
Develop sales-facing materials including sales sheets, shelf talkers, inserts, posters, and displays
Create messaging that supports sell-through without overwhelming partners
Align marketing materials with sales insights and retail realities
Support trade shows, activations, and partner collaborations
Lead copy and messaging for turn’s app including verification, collectibles, trading, leaderboards, and rewards
Design systems-based messaging, not one-off copy
Ensure app communication supports retention and brand loyalty
Write and oversee copy that adheres to state and federal cannabis regulations
Partner with legal and compliance to preempt risk and avoid rework
Build internal guardrails so teams can move fast safely
Ensure all communications are defensible and audit-ready
Build and maintain SOPs for launches, content creation, approvals, and workflows
Create frameworks that allow teams to execute consistently without constant oversight
Document institutional knowledge to reduce dependency on individuals
Turn chaos into repeatable systems
Serve as connective tissue between Marketing, Product, Sales, Retail, App, Ops, and Customer Service
Lead kickoff meetings, planning sessions, and alignment reviews
Set clear expectations, timelines, and deliverables
Ensure decisions reflect real-world constraints and feedback
Qualification
Required
Senior experience in brand, marketing, or communications leadership
Proven ability to own narrative from strategy through execution
Strong understanding of cannabis, hemp, and cannabinoids
Exceptional writing ability across formats
Experience building SOPs and operating structure
Comfort in regulated environments
Ability to lead and execute simultaneously
Preferred
Consumer tech or lifestyle brand experience
App or gamification messaging
SEO and analytics fluency
Retail or wholesale marketing experience
