Grant Accountant
Family Centers is a private, nonprofit organization providing health, education, and human services across Fairfield County. The Grants Accountant is responsible for managing the financial aspects of grants and contracts, including budgeting, reporting, compliance, and reconciliation, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and funding agency requirements.

Responsibilities
Monitor and track grant revenues and receipts to ensure all amounts the agency is entitled to are collected
Monitor and track grant expenditures to ensure compliance with funding guidelines
Prepare and submit timely financial reports to funding
Work with a variety of funding source portals for uploading documentation
Assist with grant budget development and modifications
Collaborate with program managers to review spending and forecast needs
Reconcile grant accounts and ensure accurate allocation of expenses
Maintain documentation for audits and reporting requirements
Ensure timely invoicing and drawdowns from funding sources
Stay current on federal, state, and private grant regulations
Support month and year-end close and internal/external audits related to grants
Support the annual budget preparation process as required
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
BS in Accounting
Knowledge of GAAP non-profit accounting
3+ years of experience in grant accounting or nonprofit financial management
Strong computer knowledge enabling usage of MS office, accounting, and billing software
Excellent Excel skills
Ability to communicate effectively with strong verbal and written skills
Adhere to policies regarding confidentiality
