Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems of heavy duty trucks, vehicles, and other construction equipment
Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as, oil changes, tune ups etc
Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify components as needed
Positive interface with service department, supervisors, and clients
Maintain functional condition by listening to operator complaints, repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions
At times provide off-site repair assistance with our Road Mechanic
Prepare proper documentation of actions taken
Maintain conformity to safety requirements and other regulations
Positive interface with service, department, peers and clients
Other duties, as assigned
Qualification
Required
At least 3 years' experience with automotive and heavy truck repairs and heavy construction equipment
Ability to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment problems
Strong initiative required; ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
Have a clear understanding of the necessity of equipment safety
Must have basic set of mechanic's hand tools
Must be able to work on several types and brands of equipment
Valid Driver's License
Must be able to pass drug test and background check
A good attitude
Preferred
CDL preferred but not required
