Suicide Prevention Program Manager

CONTACT COMMUNITY SERVICES INC is dedicated to supporting mental wellness and reducing suicide risk in the community. The Suicide Prevention Program Manager will lead county-wide suicide prevention efforts, engage stakeholders, and implement evidence-based frameworks to enhance mental health initiatives.

Responsibilities

Identify systemic gaps in suicide prevention efforts and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement solutions
Establish and maintain a countywide data strategy to monitor suiciderelated trends and inform prevention planning
Convene and facilitate monthly coalition meetings, ensuring inclusive participation and strategic alignment
Build and sustain relationships with individuals and organizations engaged in suicide prevention, bridging them to coalition efforts
Lead stakeholder engagement around the Zero Suicide framework, including education, planning, and implementation support
Coordinate and promote suicide prevention training, ensuring accessibility and relevance to community needs
Plan and execute public awareness campaigns and events to reduce stigma and increase knowledge of suicide prevention resources
Identify highrisk populations and coordinate targeted prevention strategies in collaboration with community partners
Align local initiatives with New York State and federal suicide prevention frameworks, ensuring compliance and leveraging available resources
Maintain communication channels, including newsletters, social media, and the coalition website to share updates and resources
Prepare annual strategic plans, reports, and evaluations to assess coalition impact and guide future efforts
Complete all required program and/or funder training and all agency required training such as NYS Mandated Reporter and Sexual Harassment
Participate in staff meetings, agency meetings and events
Ensure all data and records are maintained following privacy and confidentiality requirements
Perform additional responsibilities as they develop and are assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field required
Minimum 35 years of experience in mental health, public health, or human services
Demonstrated experience in coalition-building, community engagement, or systems-level program coordination
Experience working with data-driven initiatives
Experience in facilitating stakeholder meetings, managing cross-sector partnerships, and implementing strategic plans
Understanding of suicide prevention strategies, risk factors, and protective factors across diverse populations
Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to inform decision-making and identify service gaps
Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Skilled in facilitation, public speaking, and stakeholder engagement
Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across sectors
Knowledge of evidence-based frameworks such as Zero Suicide and ability to lead implementation efforts
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, strategic plans, and presentations
Technological proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online collaboration platforms
Reliable transportation to drive to required locations
This position requires flexibility to support evening and weekend community and stakeholder meetings and events, as scheduled
Must submit to and pass background checks and educational verification if required

Sitting at a computer for long periods of time; entering data; listening & speaking clearly
Regular walking, driving, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds

Preferred

Master's degree preferred
Familiarity with state and federal suicide prevention frameworks is preferred
