Responsibilities

Installation and Configuration: Setting up and configuring database systems and servers according to the organization's needs
Maintenance and Upgrades: Performing regular maintenance, applying patches and updates, and upgrading database software to ensure optimal performance
Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to improve speed and efficiency
Security: Implementing and managing security measures to protect sensitive data, including access controls and authentication
Backup and Recovery: Establishing and executing backup and recovery plans to prevent data loss and ensure business continuity
Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving technical issues and errors within the database environment
Data Integrity: Ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of the data stored within the databases
User Management: Creating user accounts and assigning permissions to control access to databases and their data
Capacity Planning: Monitoring and planning for future storage and resource needs to accommodate data growth
Collaboration: Working with other departments and developers to understand data requirements and integrate databases with applications

Required

Bachelor's degree and/or 5 to 10 years of experience
TS/SCI required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Poly highly desired
Expertise in various database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server)
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to address complex technical issues
Meticulousness in managing data and systems to prevent errors and ensure accuracy
Ability to communicate technical concepts and collaborate with both technical and business teams
Deep understanding of data security principles and best practices
