Responsibilities
Support day-to-day accounting operations, including obligations related to customer funds, corporate cash management, and general ledger maintenance for our payments entities
Prepare and analyze U.S. GAAP-compliant financial statements and secondary books, as required by MTL regulations
Support month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
Collaborate with internal teams to maintain accurate financial records and facilitate audit preparations
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to meet regulatory compliance standards
Foster cross-functional collaboration with legal, finance, treasury, tax, product, and R&D teams to deliver innovative and scalable solutions
Drive process automation initiatives to streamline journal entries, reporting, and system integrations, enhancing efficiency and accuracy
Take ownership of ad-hoc requests and special projects, demonstrating adaptability and proactive problem-solving
Qualification
Required
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Qualified Chartered Accountant
Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience, a plus if at least 2 years are in the tech industry, preferably in fintech or money transmission services
Detail-oriented with strong project management and organizational skills; willing to delve deep into processes and systems
Collaborative work style and commitment to achieving results
Strong planning, organizational, decision-making, interpersonal, and analytical skills
Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP revenue recognition requirements
Ability to thrive in a dynamic accounting department, effectively managing multiple entities, projects, and deliverables
Preferred
Experience with NetSuite ERP and business systems data warehouse infrastructure
