The Tennessee Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is responsible for improving the administration of justice and promoting confidence in the judiciary. The Human Resources Director is a strategic leader who will shape and execute HR initiatives, manage a team of HR professionals, and ensure effective communication with stakeholders across the state.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement HR strategies that align with judicial branch priorities and organizational goals
Design and administer online employee surveys with strategic questions to gather actionable insights that help the Executive Leadership Team maximize operations
Conduct investigations, administer corrective actions, and ensure fair and consistent application of policies to maintain a positive and compliant workplace
Analyze HR data and present findings to leadership in clear, laymans terms to inform decisions and drive measurable outcomes
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, retention, and succession planning to ensure a high-performing workforce
Identify and mitigate HR related risks
Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including judges across the state, ensuring HR remains visible and accessible
Anticipate future staffing needs and align talent strategies with organizational goals
Ensure adherence to state and federal employment laws, regulations, and internal policies
Lead the development and administration of performance evaluation systems that drive accountability and growth
Serve as a polished, professional communicator capable of influencing and collaborating at all levels of the organization
Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Leadership Team on HR-related matters

Required

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a relevant course of study and a minimum of five years of experience of human resources work
In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 10 years of human resources experience with the ability to demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility and management experience
