OSP Skilled Laborer
Aspire Communications is looking for an OSP Skilled Laborer to join our rapidly growing company. This role plays a critical part in large-scale construction projects, focusing on manual labor for conduit placement and fiber installation while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and industry standards.

Responsibilities
Load, unload, and identify materials, machinery, and tools. Distribute these to appropriate locations based on project plans
Execute trenching and excavation duties with precision, adhering to strict depth and alignment specifications. Use tools like picks, shovels, and pneumatic tampers effectively
Perform conduit path placement with a strong emphasis on manual labor. Utilize specialized tools and equipment to install conduits, demonstrating expertise in various installation techniques. Accurately feed, pull, and secure cables within installed conduits
Erect or dismantle shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures
Pour concrete and use related tools such as saws, hammers, nails, and bolts
Maintain thorough documentation of conduit placement activities. Identify and report any deviations or challenges encountered during installation
Ensure strict adherence to industry standards and safety protocols throughout every phase of the project. Contribute to a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
Collaborate closely with the OSP team and communicate progress, challenges, and successes with supervisors and team members
Accept periodic assignments involving travel away from the immediate district office area based on client needs, business requirements, and project scope. Provide support during and outside regular business hours as needed
Qualification
Required
Understanding of materials, methods, and tools related to construction, particularly for underground utilities and conduit systems
Minimum of 1 year in the construction industry, with experience in operating construction equipment and conduit installation
Valid driver's license required
Ability to work after hours, weekends, and evenings when needed
Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments and inclement weather
Physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina are necessary for tasks such as climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), balancing, walking, and handling materials
Must be able to wear and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Ability to work in noisy or dusty conditions, and handle chemicals, solvents, and other mechanical or electrical hazards
Preferred
Pipe laying and underground utility experience
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred
Class A driver's license preferred
