Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of Data Engineers / Analytics Engineers , providing technical direction and delivery ownership
Own and evolve the enterprise data warehouse , with Snowflake as the core platform
Design and maintain scalable, high-performance columnar data models for analytics and reporting
Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines across cloud-based data sources
Partner with analytics, product, and healthcare domain teams to support reporting, insights, and operational use cases
Drive best practices around data reliability, performance, cost optimization, and governance
Support and guide architectural decisions across cloud data platforms
Participate in hands-on engineering while acting as a technical leader (player/coach model)
Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Platform roles
Proven leadership experience (team lead, staff engineer, or similar)
Strong experience with cloud data warehouse platforms, including: Snowflake (strongly preferred), Databricks or AWS Redshift
Solid understanding of columnar data stores and analytical data modeling
Experience designing data solutions in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Strong SQL skills and experience building production-grade data pipelines
Experience working in regulated or data-sensitive environments
Healthcare industry experience (payer, provider, PBM, health tech, or similar)
Preferred
Experience supporting analytics, BI, and downstream reporting teams
Exposure to modern data tooling (dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, etc.)
Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks in healthcare
Background as a Staff Engineer or Team Lead who still enjoys hands-on work
