Technical Portfolio Manager
The Nursing and Midwifery Council is a regulatory body focused on public protection through effective technology delivery. The Technical Portfolio Manager will oversee the technology portfolio, ensuring alignment with business goals and managing dependencies to maximize impact on organizational priorities.

Responsibilities
Oversee the NMC’s technology portfolio, ensuring that projects and initiatives are aligned with business goals, the technology roadmap and the wider corporate portfolio
Acting as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, enable informed decision-making, manage dependencies and help prioritise work that delivers the greatest value
Play a key role in evaluating and sequencing initiatives, identifying technical dependencies, and communicating the impact of changes to plans or priorities
Work closely with business partners, architects and delivery teams to help shape demand, allocate resources effectively and ensure delivery remains aligned with strategic objectives
Through active risk management, performance monitoring and strong governance, help ensure that technology initiatives are delivered efficiently and consistently
Provide clear insight into portfolio health and performance, supporting continuous improvement and confident decision-making at senior levels
Qualification
Required
Strategic, purpose-led mindset
Ability to connect technology delivery to organisational outcomes and public protection
Experience working across complex, multi-stakeholder environments
Ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining a clear focus on value and risk
Comfortable working with delivery frameworks, project and portfolio data, and governance processes
Ability to use insight to guide decisions and communicate clearly with stakeholders
Effective collaborator and influencer
Ability to bring people together around shared goals
Ability to foster strong working relationships across technical and non-technical teams
Clarity, leadership, and commitment to high-quality outcomes
Ability to ensure the NMC's technology portfolio is well-managed, transparent and aligned with its purpose and long-term ambitions
