The Specialist, Shipboard Payroll will support daily payroll operations, implement new procedures, and analyze shipboard financial activities while interacting with employees at all levels.

Travel

Responsibilities

Supports the shipboard payroll process, including providing guidance to shipboard personnel, determining payroll procedures for implementation to the fleet and resolving all outstanding issues independently with ships or operating departments
Reviews of semi-monthly shipboard payroll entries as well as signoff pay, to determine entries were properly coded, reasonable and justifiable
Complete / approve (if needed) payrolls for Cococay / Labadee / SEAForm payroll
Run payroll for newbuilds (until financial team gets onboard)
Provide payroll reports for internal and external audit departments, so they can conduct audits onboard
Review shipboard payroll based on payroll reports received from shipboard personnel and create journal entries in case payroll entries, from originated ship are not generated
Assist in calculating payment for Silversea crew members for the categories below:
Monthly payment calculations for travelling positions
Yearly pay calculations – Day count – for travelling positions
Payment calculations for crew members in medical, termination, retirement
Payment calculation for Italian and special contracts + additional bonuses based on crew member’s position, contract location, and ship class
Calculate monthly payment for crewmembers with year around contracts – getting paid while at home
Ensures onboard systems of internal controls are being followed
Manage and support the SEAForm database - electronic wage payment program -including SEAForm approval and payment process
Do QuickPays for crew members, complete journal templates and record journal entries for:
NOB (not onboard/terminated/other)
Entertainers/Cast
CAMEX payments
Run monthly Power BI reports for Philipino allotment. Submit wire in Tungsten to send amounts deducted to PTC (Manila) for allotee distribution
Run monthly Indian SPC reports and send to Manila for quarterly payments

Integral part of the department responsible for the proper accounting and processing of payrolls valued at approximately $410 million dollars of payroll gross wages for 5,600 US employees

Required

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in accounting or equivalent from a four-year college; or equivalent combination of education and experience
4 years minimum of payroll experience, processing payroll for 2,000+ employees
Required knowledge of, and able to apply payroll rules, practices, and regulations
Must show professional respect and adherence to confidentiality and discretion in handling pay matters
Requires strong analytical and interpersonal skills and strong customer service skills
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be self-motivated, flexible, deadline-oriented, and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision
Good personal time management and ability to adhere to tight schedules
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
Ability to interface and work with a wide variety of individuals at all levels
Must be literate in Windows operating systems, Excel, Word, Power BI and Power Point
Up to 25% of shipboard travel could be needed
