Field Service Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

Create, review, and troubleshoot pneumatic and electrical drawings and bills of material using AutoCAD Electrical
Develop advanced control programs for machines and automated devices
Perform electrical testing using voltmeters, ammeters, and related tools
Apply proper wiring practices to ensure system safety, reliability, and compliance
Design ladder logic and machine control systems with strong proficiency in relevant software platforms
Collaborate with customers and internal teams to define machine performance and functional requirements
Maintain a strong working knowledge of electrical and pneumatic components
Mentor and support junior engineers to strengthen overall team capability

Required

BS/BA in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical experience
Minimum of 5 years in a related engineering position
Ability and willingness to travel 50%–70%
Create, review, and troubleshoot pneumatic and electrical drawings and bills of material using AutoCAD Electrical
Develop advanced control programs for machines and automated devices
Perform electrical testing using voltmeters, ammeters, and related tools

Robotics: Fanuc, Kuka, Yaskawa, Epson, Denso, Staubli
Networking: Ethernet, Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus, Profinet, CC-Link, IO-Link
Motion Control: Allen Bradley, Siemens, IAI, etc
Vision Systems: Cognex, Keyence
Work in standing/sitting position continuously
Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor
Physically be underneath machines working overhead
Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally
Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently
Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
VISUAL ACUITY: Near acuity with or without accommodation
HEARING Ability: Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose, with or without accommodation

HMI: Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider, Proface
Testing/Monitoring: Force (Kistler, SigPOD), Leak Testing (CTS, Cosmo, etc.)
Database Tools: Ignition, FTTM, SQL
