Human Resources and Training Manager
Pro-Type Industries is a third-generation family-owned business established in 1969, providing high-quality CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and finishing services. The HR and Training Manager will support general HR administration and manage all training programs, ensuring compliance and effective employee development.

Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain a company-wide training strategy aligned with Pro-Type’s operational and compliance needs (OSHA, AS9100, CMMC, aerospace customer requirements) in coordination with the Compliance Manager
Administer the company’s Learning Management System (LMS): create courses, assign training, run reports, monitor completion, and ensure timely recertifications
Maintain all training records, certification logs, and audit documentation for internal, customer, and regulatory audits
Build and update training modules (PowerPoints, videos, quizzes, SOP-based modules)
Coordinate external training providers for welding certifications, OSHA courses, CMMC/cybersecurity, equipment operation, etc
Conduct and manage new-hire orientation training and track onboarding compliance tasks
Partner with department leads to identify training needs and build skill development paths for machinists, welders, CNC operators, finishing technicians, quality personnel, and support staff
Track KPIs such as training completion rates, overdue assignments, recertification timelines, and program effectiveness
Maintain personnel files, training records, and HR databases to ensure accurate, secure, and compliant documentation
Prepare and update HR spreadsheets, reports, and dashboards (headcount, turnover, training status, etc.)
Coordinate recruiting logistics including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and pre-employment checks (background, drug test, work eligibility)
Manage onboarding paperwork, orientation scheduling, badge/credential setup, and LMS enrollment
Assist with benefits enrollments, changes, and administrative questions
Monitor compliance-related documentation (I-9 audits, OSHA logs support, certification renewals, training rosters)
Maintain updated HR policies, forms, and templates
Provide administrative support for annual performance review cycles, training calendars, and company-wide HR communications

Required

Management/Leadership skills

Able to communicate with all levels of management and staff effectively
Analytical abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical individuals
Ability to work comfortably on both the office and shop floor to coordinate training activities
Knowledge of OSHA requirements, manufacturing safety training, and audit expectations
Knowledge of federal and state regulations and labor laws (FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, payroll etc.) administration
Preferred
AS9100 knowledge preferred
Knowledge of Learning Management Systems administration and management
Knowledge of professional development programs
