PROCUREMENT CLERK
Fayetteville Public Works Commission is seeking a Procurement Clerk to provide administrative support within the Procurement Department. The role involves organizing work, assisting in procurement tasks, managing mail operations, and maintaining departmental records.

Responsibilities
Organizes work and relieves other staff members of a variety of administrative tasks
Assists the manager and other departmental personnel by performing a variety of duties in support of department functions, such as meeting planning, preparing and/or documents, requisition processing or coordinating activities
Assists in the organization and clerical documents for the purchase of PWC logo apparel for PWC personnel
Collects, compiles records, or otherwise gathers data and prepares standard files with information necessary for decision-making
Makes routine choices within established guidelines with readily available manager
Maintains the Department calendar and filing system
Provides information to customers (internal and/or external) and/or refers requests to appropriate procurement team members
Logs/maintains/updates basic computer documents, spreadsheets, tables, etc
Maintains files of records, forms, and correspondence
Maintains confidentiality of information
Receives/sorts/distributes phone messages and mail
Operates the designated mail vehicle for the mail route
Receives, checks, sorts, distributes, and/or tracks incoming mail and packages from postal facilities, PWC employees, commissioners, and internal/external customers
Receives, seals, stamps, and/or prepares shipping labels for outgoing mail and packages from PWC employees and commissioners
Schedules and manages mass mailing/large volume projects for the entire organization
Verifies mail pricing and secures required postage
Adheres to safety rules; operates and maintains assigned equipment safely/efficiently; no lost time accidents occur; participates in safety meetings/training
Assumes responsibility for personal productivity, time management and quality of work
Recognizes/communicates problems and suggests solutions to supervisor
Carries out directions and completes assignments in acceptable time frames
Applies technical and procedural know-how to get the job done in an acceptable manner; maintains appropriate skills for the position
Exercises initiative/independence in developing work methods and carrying out duties within the scope of responsibility designated for the position
Effectively supports co-workers in establishing and achieving objectives
Observes established rules/policies and operates under the general supervision of assigned supervisor. Work is performed in accordance with established policies and procedures
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited one (1) year community college or university with a certificate/diploma program in Office Technology, Secretarial Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or other related field
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and a minimum of two (2) years of responsible office experience
Must possess/maintain a valid North Carolina Driver's License
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, spelling, and keyboarding
