Senior Escalations Engineer (L3)
Bowman Williams is a long-standing, values-driven Managed Services and Technology Consulting firm headquartered in Central New Jersey. They are seeking a Senior Escalations Engineer who will act as the technical backbone for escalations, owning high-level escalations end to end and providing consultative support to clients.
Responsibilities
Own high-level escalations end to end: root cause analysis, remediation, documentation, and client follow-up
Troubleshoot networking issues using strong fundamentals (OSI-model mindset, isolation, methodical testing)
Handle Windows Server and server application troubleshooting, including vendor coordination when needed
Troubleshoot permissions and access issues (file paths, security groups, application access, authentication)
Support Microsoft 365 environments and Active Directory / Group Policy
Troubleshoot SharePoint at a practical level (hands-on support, not deep engineering)
Act as a consultative presence with clients — identify risks or gaps (“see something, say something”) and bring clear recommendations back to the team
Perform occasional onsite work (rack/stack, basic network setup, flat networks, IP assignments)
Qualification
Required
Must have MSP Industry experience - needs multi-domain support/ support multiple infrastructure and clients at a given time
Strong networking troubleshooting fundamentals (OSI model approach)
Windows Server and server application troubleshooting
Microsoft 365 administration
Active Directory and Group Policy
Entra ID / Azure AD: Conditional Access, MFA policies, SSO, device join issues
Preferred
Ability to differentiate and troubleshoot AVD vs. Azure-hosted servers
Working knowledge of backup concepts (Azure Backup, Veeam, Datto-style BCDR)
Familiarity with security tooling at a practical or concept level (Defender, SOC/SIEM, MDR, monitoring)
Exposure to Kaseya ecosystem tools (RocketCyber, IT Glue, BullPhish ID, SaaS Alerts)
