Responsibilities
Manage cash activity for sponsored awards, including invoicing, payment collection, and account reconciliation
Regularly review account balances and collaborate with sponsors and internal departments to resolve invoicing or collection issues
Interpret award or contract documents to determine billing requirements and submit invoices through required online platforms
Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners
Conduct data analysis to support operational improvements, strategic projects, and departmental goals
Assist management with special initiatives and process enhancements
Qualification
Required
5-8 years of experience in accounting, financial operations, customer service, or a related field
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
Proactive, diplomatic, and able to manage both processes and relationships effectively
Intermediate Excel skills, including the ability to work with complex formulas and analyze large datasets
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team
Preferred
Experience in a university or research environment is a plus
