Equity Research, Junior Analyst - Homebuilding & Building Products

Wells Fargo is seeking an Equity Research, Junior Analyst – Homebuilding & Building Products. In this role, you will conduct fundamental equity research and communicate findings to stakeholders while building strong relationships within the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

Conducting the fundamental equity research process for the purpose of providing differentiated industry and stock-specific content, including building and maintaining financial forecasts and stock recommendations for our institutional investor client base
Communicating research findings to both internal stakeholders and our institutional investor client base via consistent dialogue
Building strong relationships not only with Equity Research colleagues, but also with Equity Sales, Cash Trading, Derivatives, Wealth Management, and others
Demonstrating subject matter knowledge within the Home Building and Building products sector and a strong understanding of the companies within the sector
Conducting rigorous analysis of financial statements and industry, company, and market data sets
Creating and updating financial models and databases
Authoring, with Senior Analyst, differentiated research content on companies and industry themes
Attending company and industry events; cultivating relationships with covered companies and industry contacts
Communicating research conclusions to internal and external constituents
Collaborating with research peers to support the generation of cross-sector research content
Exercising independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Collaborating and consulting with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Required

6+ months of Securities Investment research, financial services experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Preferred

A BS/BA or higher
Direct experience within the industry or equity research industry specific sector - Home Building and Building products
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including high level of proficiency in modeling
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
Strong writing skills and attention to detail
Knowledge and understanding of financial statement analysis
Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles in the capital markets industry
Knowledge and understanding of investment tools such as Bloomberg or FactSet application
Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills
