Service Account Manager - Special Projects

They are seeking a motivated and client-focused Service Account Manager – Special Projects to manage key client relationships and drive revenue through small project sales while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary point of contact for designated key service accounts
Maintain strong relationships through regular communication, site visits, and proactive follow-up
Understand client facilities, systems, and operational priorities
Identify, develop, and sell special projects arising from service work inspections, and client requests
Perform site walks, assist with scoping, and collaborate with estimating and operations teams
Prepare and present proposals for small projects
Follow opportunities through closing and handoff to operations
Consult with clients about mechanical systems, repairs, upgrades, and improvements
Translate technical needs into practical, cost-effective solutions
Partner with field technicians and supervisors to identify sales opportunities
Work closely with service dispatch, operations, and project teams to ensure smooth execution
Communicate with in-house engineering department to develop compliant, cost-effective solutions
Coordinate system selection, equipment sizing, and preliminary layouts during the proposal phase
Review engineering inputs to ensure consistency with customer requirements and approved project budgets
Provide accurate job information, scope clarity, and expectations to internal stakeholders
Utilize company systems (e.g., BuildOps, CRM, ERP) to track opportunities, proposals, and account activity)
Support growth within existing accounts while assisting in developing new client relationships
Participate in account planning, forecasting, and pipeline reviews with the Service Sales Manager

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience preferred
2-4+ years of proven sales experience in HVAC, construction, or related technical fields preferred
Prior experience in estimating, service supervision, or project coordination
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and energy efficiency
Strong understanding of service operations and small project workflows
Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical clients
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently, travel to job sites, and potentially work in varied environmental conditions
Effective presentation and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Professional demeanor and strong customer service mindset
Ability to work in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment
Self-motivated and able to manage simultaneous projects and responsibilities
Strong financial and business acumen
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook
Experience working with service or construction management software
Familiarity with state, local, and safety (OSHA) codes is expected
Available for local travel
Must possess a Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record
