Responsibilities
SEC & External Reporting
· 10-K, 10-Q, 8-Ks and all SEC filings
· Earnings support, tie-outs, disclosure controls and review packages
· GAAP financial statements and footnote disclosures
· Coordination with external auditors, legal, tax and investor relations
GAAP & Consolidations
· Lead holding company and multi-entity consolidations
· Oversee complex intercompany, eliminations and equity method activity
· Own technical GAAP interpretations and accounting memos
· Support transactions, reinsurance structures and investment accounting
Leadership & Review
· Manage and develop a small team of managers / seniors
· Review work prepared by frontline managers and AVPs
· Act as a quality gate before information moves to the VPs and CAO
Qualification
Required
Strong SEC reporting background (10-K, 10-Q, disclosures, tie-outs, audit interaction)
Deep GAAP knowledge, ideally across financial services
Experience in Big 4 or large public accounting firm (audit or accounting advisory strongly preferred)
Ability to operate in a low-handholding, high-expectation environment
Preferred
Financial services experience preferred (insurance, asset management, banking, fintech, etc.)
