Business Development Associate (Capture & Market Intelligence)

Responsibilities
Support the Chief Growth Officer in developing and implementing business development strategies that align with PMAT's goals
Conduct detailed market and opportunity research across DoW and federal customers (e.g., Navy SYSCOMs, PEOs, PMOs), including analysis of SAM.gov postings, RFIs, Sources Sought, IDIQs, OTAs, and SBIR/STTR pathways
Support opportunity qualification by assessing mission relevance, customer alignment, competitive landscape, contract vehicle access, and strategic fit with PMAT’s capabilities
Develop and maintain structured opportunity briefings, capture notes, and research summaries to inform leadership decision-making
Assist the Chief Growth Officer with capture planning activities, including stakeholder mapping, competitor analysis, win themes, and early solution framing
Support preparation of proposals, white papers, quad charts, and executive-level briefings in coordination with technical and program teams
Maintain accurate and up-to-date opportunity, customer, and partner data within PMAT’s CRM/pipeline and internal tracking tools
Track and analyze pipeline data, trends, and outcomes to help refine PMAT’s growth strategy and focus areas
Support and track virtual and in-person business development engagements, industry days, and customer meetings as needed
Qualification
Required
Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights
Demonstrated experience in federal contracting, defense acquisition, or government programs
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to support executive-level briefings
High attention to detail and comfort working with structured data, trackers, MS Office and CRM systems
Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn technical, operational, and acquisition concepts
Bachelor's degree in Business, International Relations, Political Science, Engineering, or a related field
U.S. Citizenship required
No dual citizenship
Ability to obtain a clearance required
Preferred
Prior experience supporting business development, capture management, proposal development, or market research in the defense or federal sector
Familiarity with DoW organizations (particularly the US Navy), acquisition processes, and contract vehicles (e.g., IDIQs, OTAs, SBIR/STTR)
Experience researching or supporting Navy programs, PEOs, or SYSCOMs
Exposure to technical domains such as C4ISR, data fusion, AI/ML, cloud systems, or tactical edge computing
Interest in growing into a capture manager or business development leadership role
Active Secret clearance preferred
Remote position, but proximity to Washington DC/Northern VA/MD preferred
