STS Aerospace is seeking a Production Supervisor responsible for the safety, productivity, and quality mindset of shop floor employees. The role involves coaching, mentoring, and ensuring that the team meets productivity goals while adhering to company culture and policies.

Responsibilities

Responsible for communicating to employees, providing a link between what they do and what the business needs

Teach lean concepts and actively engage employees to improve speed, quality and reduce cost

Participate and champion continuous improvement events

Coach and guide employees about proper conduct and behaviors in line with company culture

Provide feedback and maintain documentation regarding employee behaviors (good & bad)

Ensure dept. employees adhere to company policies (e.g. following operating instructions, safety protocols, etc.)

Establish and enforce policies (manufacturing, quality, safety)

Responsible for employee time and attendance

Audit overtime usage and seek improvements to reduce as necessary

Optimize resource allocations – manpower & equipment

Establish and sustain a 5S culture

Assure employees have adequate training to achieve quality and productivity requirements

Team building

Use problem solving and critical thinking skills to overcome manufacturing obstacles

Encourage problem solving at the operator level

Lead and participate in Gemba walks

Investigate safety, quality or productivity issues

Create and assure that KPI’s are being tracked and improvements are sought

Manage and communicate resource exceptions (time off / coverage) with Operation Planners
