Responsibilities
Prepare and execute crash safety impact simulations using LS-DYNA
Analyze and interpret simulation results to assess vehicle crash performance
Evaluate results against automotive safety targets and regulatory standards, including:
New Car Assessment Program (NCAP)
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)
Honda internal safety requirements
Identify and recommend design countermeasures when simulation results do not meet target performance
Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to cross-functional Honda engineering teams
Develop detailed engineering documentation, including simulation reports, and collaborate closely with design and test engineers to support development decisions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BS in ME)
Minimum 6+ years of industry experience as a CAE Analyst, with hands-on use of solver software relevant to the department's specialty
At least 5 years of experience with LS-DYNA, including extensive use of pre- and post-processing tools such as ANSA and META-Post
Proven experience in complex, full-vehicle system-level CAE model development, visualization, and analysis
A related advanced degree may substitute for up to 2 years of required experience
