Process Engineer

Responsibilities

Creates/manages project timelines to optimize processes in manufacturing systems
Understands and works with equipment drawings/schematics and product GD&T to concept processes which lead to the development of tooling, fixtures, manufacturing equipment and source packages for new projects
Understands equipment controls and functions to improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards
Supports the development of projects related to manufacturing equipment, materials and fastening
Works with equipment designers and manufacturing officers to develop cost-effective and working production process
Assists in the development, planning and execution of pre-production process development to ensure a seamless transition to production
Maintains testing equipment
Communicates data collected and recorded both verbally and in structured report format
Researches and purchases new manufacturing technology
Creates and executes equipment training procedures for new and existing equipment
Participates in Team, Supplier and Customer Meetings as necessary
Utilizes PLEX to support on-time project execution and budget tracking
Acts as a good steward of the Company’s resources and exemplifies the values of the Company
Ensures personal compliance with all Company policies, procedures, values, ethics, and rules
Maintains and promotes a safe work environment through ownership of Company safety program. This includes following and enforcing all safety rules/regulations and proper operating procedures, as well as the proper use of prescribed safety equipment pertinent to the department, and immediately reporting all accidents/incidents to supervisor and Human Resources
Supports the Company’s equal employment opportunity policy and actions, immediately reporting violations to supervisor and/or the Human Resources department
Ensures that work area is free from any form of harassment (sexual, racial, religious, etc.), immediately reporting violations to supervisor and/or the Human Resources department

Actively participates in and successfully completes appropriate training and that all training provided is evaluated and that proper documentation is provided for accurate maintenance of the employee’s training record
Meets with supervisor at least once per year to review job performance using this job description as a basis for appraisal
Maintains complete security and confidentiality of all Company records and employee data
Maintains a clean, orderly and professional work environment
Performs other miscellaneous duties as may be assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or related technical field required
minimum of 1-3 years of related experience within a manufacturing environment (preferably in the automotive industry)
equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with various problem solving techniques such as Six Sigma, 8D, etc
Proven project management, planning, scheduling and prioritizing skills to meet goals
Basic ability to read electrical, mechanical and hydraulic prints
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and/or government regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural instructions
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
Ability to use a personal computer with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications most notably Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability to use main business information system
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Ability to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel object, tools, or controls, reach with hands or arms, and talk or hear
Ability to regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 40 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision
