Technical Communications Specialist

TexasBank is a financial institution seeking a Technical Communications Specialist to support bank-wide learning and communication initiatives. Responsibilities

Develop and maintain procedural documents, user guides, job aids, FAQs, QRGs, communication scripts, and training support materials
Simplify complex or technical information for broad employee audiences across multiple departments
Review and edit documentation for clarity, tone, grammar, formatting, and alignment with TexasBank brand and values
Draft enterprise-wide communications for system rollouts, policy updates, and training initiatives
Communicate compliance-related updates in clear and practical language, ensuring procedural alignment
Assist the Director with training initiatives, including creating resource materials, reinforcement communications, and post-training support tools
Develop communication plans and support documentation for launch projects (e.g., LMS, intranet, system upgrades, policy changes)
Participate in system or platform testing (UAT) to ensure resources are accurate and user-ready before launch
Collect user feedback and incorporate improvements into documentation and training tools
Assist with intranet content development and upkeep, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and optimal navigation
Provide support for LMS administration including assignment communications, content updates, and user instructions
Maintain documentation of updates, version control history, and content tagging standards
Work alongside SMEs, IT, Compliance, HR, and department leads to gather and validate information
Assist resource governance efforts by helping standardize documentation formats and naming conventions
Support adoption strategies by incorporating values and change messaging into all materials

Required

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Technical Writing, Instructional Design, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
2–4 years of experience in technical communication, corporate documentation, training support, or a similar role in a regulated or fast-paced environment
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneNote, OneDrive)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders

Preferred

3–5 years of banking or financial services industry experience
Familiarity with content management systems, intranet platforms, and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Experience translating regulatory or compliance content into practical guidance
Regulatory awareness within a financial or regulated environment
Cultural alignment and storytelling skills to support organizational values
Project and change support experience
