Responsibilities
Meet with prospective clients to understand their wants, needs and budget constraints
Create a scope of work and design program for the project
Create schematic design plans and architectural details using CAD technology
Participate in the estimating process and ultimately sell the project
Read and draft blueprints, work with CAD technology and design floor plans and architectural details such as crown moulding, built-in shelving, and other moulding designs
Solve problems through creative space planning that ultimately increases value, provides for a comfortable living space, and accentuates certain areas of the home through effective use of space and lighting
Qualification
Required
Architectural design experience
Experience meeting with clients
Ability to separate needs from wants
Experience developing work scopes
Experience creating initial designs that exceed client expectations
Technical skills in CAD technology
Ability to read and draft blueprints
Ability to design floor plans and architectural details such as crown moulding and built-in shelving
Problem-solving skills through creative space planning
Ability to increase value and provide comfortable living spaces
Effective use of space and lighting in design
Professional, organized, and concise communication skills
Preferred
Residential design certification or similar level of experience
