Aircraft Mechanic I - Ordnance

They are seeking an Aircraft Mechanic I - Ordnance to perform routine ordnance maintenance, operate armament systems, and ensure safety and training compliance.

Responsibilities
Performs routine ordnance maintenance functions
Employs appropriate safety precautions, security procedures, and record keeping techniques for ordnance
Operates and performs maintenance on armament weapons support equipment and aircraft armament systems
Loads and unloads airborne weapons and stores aboard aircraft to include reconfiguration and functional testing of aircraft weapons release and control, missile, and guns systems
Removes, maintains, services, installs and loads aircraft guns
Arms and de-arms aircraft
Perform inventory management tasks associated with Airborne weapons information system AWIS web-based application
Supports and actively participates in comprehensive weapons systems, safety, and training programs
Conducts functional checks of racks, launchers, adapters, and electric components, aircraft armament circuits and maintains them in an operational status by appropriate preventative maintenance
Will work with other work groups as needed such as ALSS, Flight equipment, Tool Room, Etc
Participates as an Ordnance board member
Qualification
Required
Aviation Ordnance experience
Minimum 2 years' rotary wing aircraft experience
Must be skill qualified in a primary MOS from any of the following OccFlds: 6113/6173 Aircraft Maintenance, equivalent skill designation from other services or possess valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification
Must have had and be able to maintain all explosive handling/safety qualifications as outlined in applicable publications and standards
Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA within 90 days after assignment required
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and base access
Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds
Must be able to pass fit for work physical and/or drug test as required
Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, to include working overhead
Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flightline
Must be able to man and perform Flightline Extinguisher duties
If required must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate Powered Industrial Trucks
If required must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 - 4 hours
If required must be able to perform confined space activities
Travel may be required
