Correction Enterprise Supervisor II (Agriculture)
The N.C. Department of Adult Correction is responsible for safeguarding lives and property through various operations. They are seeking a Correction Enterprise Supervisor II to assist with the management of agricultural operations and supervise inmates while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
Assist the Farm Management in the overall management of row crops, vegetables, hay, and poultry operations
Train offenders and staff at Enterprise Farm and various state locations
Work in the daily operation of the farming operation, assisting with row crop, poultry, and vegetable production
Responsible for the tool and key inventory for farm operation
Provide necessary maintenance of the equipment operated in the cost center
Responsible for planting, spraying, scouting, and fertilization of agricultural crops
Monitor work to comply with quality and quantity standards, NCDAC policies, safety policies, and all other applicable laws, policies, and regulations
Accountable for the custody and supervision of inmates assigned to the plant
Patrol the plant and supervise production operations while ensuring the care, custody, and control of inmates in accordance with department policies and procedures
Supervise inmates away from the prison facility for specific job assignments
Qualification
Required
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and a minimum of two years of related industry/service experience
Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission
Plant Specific Special Requirements Agriculture - NC Pesticide License and NC Wastewater License Cannery – Low Acid and Acidified Food Production certification must be obtained within one year of hire
Laundry - Certified Professional Laundry Manager or Certified Laundry and Linen Manager certification
Braille - Certified Braille Transcriber certificate must be obtained within 18 months of hire
Preferred
Knowledge of poultry, row crops, or vegetable production operations. Specifically, pullet, poultry layers, soybean, corn, wheat and vegetable production
Ability to scout crops and livestock for pests/disease and have the necessary knowledge of pesticides and their uses to plan to control the pest/ disease
