Chief Communications and Marketing Officer and Associate Vice Chancellor
The University of California, Riverside (UCR) is seeking a strategic, creative, and collaborative leader to serve as the Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Communications and Marketing Officer (AVC/CCMO). The AVC/CCMO will be responsible for developing and directing communications and marketing strategies to elevate UCR’s brand and reputation nationally and internationally.
Responsibilities
Develop and direct communications and marketing strategies for the University
Advance the brand, elevate the reputation, and enhance understanding of UCR’s mission
Increase the visibility and understanding of UCR’s mission and successes
Collaborate with communications staff and partners across different departments
Develop a roadmap to achieve strategic goals
Foster a positive team culture within a highly collaborative team
Provide oversight of central units and guidance to communications and marketing teams throughout the university
Align the campus in creating a consistent voice in storytelling and messaging
Work closely with the Chancellor, Associate Chancellor, and other key campus executives and stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Strategic, creative, and collaborative leadership skills
Experience in developing and directing communications and marketing strategies
Ability to advance the brand and reputation of an organization
Experience in fostering a positive team culture
Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders
Experience in aligning messaging and storytelling across diverse audiences
Ability to increase visibility and understanding of an organization's mission and successes
Experience in overseeing a high-performing communications and marketing team
Ability to support staff development and maintain positive morale during structural changes
Experience in implementing communications and marketing strategies in support of overarching organizational goals
