Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts and agreements
Handling commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, business torts, and related claims
Advising clients on commercial transactions, risk allocation, and dispute avoidance strategies
Managing matters involving breach of contract, indemnification, and enforcement issues
Representing clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings, as applicable
Conducting legal research and analysis related to commercial and business law issues
Managing deadlines, filings, and procedural requirements across multiple jurisdictions
Maintaining strong client relationships through responsiveness, strategic guidance, and adherence to client guidelines
Accurately recording and maintaining billable hours while ensuring all deadlines are met
Qualification
Required
Admission to practice in the State of New York is required (Admission to practice in Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania is a plus)
5–10 years of experience practicing commercial law
Demonstrated experience with commercial contract drafting and review
Proven experience handling commercial disputes and related litigation matters
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex legal and business issues
Ability to manage multiple matters independently while collaborating effectively with team members
