Responsibilities

Designing and implementing security architectures including firewalls, encryption standards, access controls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
Ensuring all cybersecurity tools are available, operational, and properly updated
Leading remediation of vulnerabilities, security incidents, and hardening requirements
Creating or enhancing security policies, procedures, and standards aligned with NIST/CIS
Guiding internal and external audit efforts and participating in penetration testing activities
Working across IT and business teams to drive consistent security practices and risk reduction
Providing architectural guidance and proactive threat analysis to prevent issues before they occur
Performing additional security-related projects and strategic initiatives as the program evolves

Required

10+ years of IT cybersecurity experience
8+ years as a dedicated cybersecurity engineer
Financial services background (banking, credit union, fintech, annuities, etc.)
Strong familiarity with NIST or CIS frameworks
Associate's Degree in Cybersecurity required; Bachelor's preferred
CISSP, SSCP, Security+ or similar certifications strongly preferred
Experience designing security architecture, strengthening network defenses, and responding to incidents
Ability to evaluate threats, prioritize remediation, and recommend scalable, cost-effective solutions
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity
CISSP, SSCP, Security+ or similar certifications
