Java Development Environment Consultant

Responsibilities
Understand JD Edwards system architecture to identify relevant tables, fields, business rules, and master data needed for downstream reporting and transformation
Ability to interpret business requirements (e.g., P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, variance analysis, costing, inventory optimization) and map relevant data elements to create similar reporting outside the JDE system
Collaborate with data engineers to convert business requirements into target data models, mapping logic, and transformation rules
Validate end-to-end data flow from JDE to target systems, ensuring integrity, completeness, and consistency
Demonstrate exposure to operational KPIs, financial dependencies, and calculation logic
Strong functional expertise across JDE Finance, Sales & Distribution, Procurement, and Manufacturing modules
Role composition: 60% Functional / 40% Technical (table structures, mapping logic, configuration, testing, and validation)
Work with Finance, Operations, Data, and senior leadership teams to align systems and reporting with business needs and objectives
Translate complex technical and financial concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
Lead discussions related to data accuracy, financial impact, controls, and business rule alignment
Create detailed P&L accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations
Analyze how manufacturing, sales and distribution, and procurement operations affect financial ledgers
Collaborate with operational teams to understand their impact on financial performance
Conduct thorough variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual and budgeted figures
Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance
Develop and maintain accurate inventory reports
Work closely with supply chain teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs
Partner with various departments to ensure alignment of financial goals with operational strategies
Communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders effectively
Qualification
Required
12+ years of hands-on experience with JD Edwards (version 9.0+ preferred) across Finance and core operational modules
Strong understanding of JDE underlying database structure and data storage methodology
Solid understanding of ERP data flows, financial controls, audit requirements, and compliance standards
Demonstrated experience leading data transformation, mapping design, and system integration
Strong influencing skills with the ability to present and drive decisions confidently
