Responsibilities

Reviews and improves site standards, recommending changes to company standards for automated valves and associated equipment
Develop automated valve improvement plans that align with site business goals and objectives
Seeks reliability improvements directed at increasing plant equipment uptime in a proactive manner as a result of valve improvements
Continually review the customer critical spares list for opportunities to improves accessibility to equipment through warehouse spares
Must work with various vendors at the customers direction and hold them to the customers standards in terms of valve repairs
Provides quality control and design reviews of new projects or repairs that involve automated valves and associated equipment
Work in a team environment with other engineering disciplines as well as operations and maintenance personnel
Provide leadership and oversight for the equipment record system to ensure correct information is being collected
Track and evaluates Key Performance Indicators for the equipment class and analyzes any improvement opportunities
Uses the industry methodology to identify “Bad Actors” within equipment class
Identifies and evaluates technology upgrades with application opportunities within the facility that meet B/C (benefit to Cost) ratio targets
Provides planning support and troubleshooting assistance in the field during plant start-ups, shutdowns, or unit upsets
Serve as a technical consultant and maintain a willingness to be available outside of normal working hours
Provide root cause failure analysis expertise and support as needed for equipment failures
Conducts field walk-downs to identify and document job requirements, including any specific safety hazards that may be encountered during the execution of work
Develop comprehensive work packages that include man hours, required crafts, equipment, external resources, parts, materials, and any associated engineering or technical documentation, specifications, and drawings
Create and maintain job plans for repetitive maintenance activities
Monitor the lifecycle of work orders, up to and including, close-out when work is complete
Maintain a professional image and follow all relevant John H. Carter Co., Inc. policies and procedures
Assumes responsibility for your communication efforts, both internal to JHC and external, to ensure that all parties/stakeholders have a clear understanding as to accuracy and timeliness requirements
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or special projects as assigned
Able and willing to work on-call and off shift as required by customers or management
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Work collaboratively with development staff and support staff to maintain thorough knowledge of product capabilities, and to ensure that all communications between John H. Carter Co., Inc. and its stakeholders are precise
Must be able to provide technical advice and work closely with the I/E Superintendent, Maintenance Manager, and the Reliability Manager

Required

Vocational/Technical training or higher required, other disciplines are possible but must show competency
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in control valve maintenance required
Minimum of five (5) years of experience of computer knowledge and experience in but not limited to a scheduling software, MS Office Suite, and CMMS programs, such as SAP or Maximo required
Minimum of 5 years direct valve and instrumentation experience in industrial plants
Must be knowledgeable in control valves, on/off valves, positioners, limit switches, and controllers
