Optomi is seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer (911 Call Handling) to support the integration, testing, and operation of mission-critical communications systems. This role involves hands-on work with wired, wireless, VOIP, and emergency communications technologies in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Integrate, configure, test, and support communications systems including wireline, wireless, and VOIP technologies

Perform system integration, validation, and troubleshooting across multiple platforms

Support Windows desktop and server environments (Windows 10, Windows Server 2012+)

Analyze and troubleshoot network protocols including SIP/RTP, TCP/IP, UDP, and DHCP

Participate in system testing, documentation, and reporting of results

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability and performance

Maintain accurate technical documentation and provide clear written and verbal communication

Work onsite in server rooms and lab environments as needed

Required

Knowledge of wireline, wireless, VOIP, and related communications technologies

Experience with Windows desktop and server environments (Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 or higher)

Understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols (SIP/RTP, TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP)

System integration and testing experience

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Working knowledge of computers and electronic data processing systems

Ability to work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Preferred

Experience with 911 Emergency Call Handling systems (Cloud and Legacy)

Familiarity with Intrado Viper, Motorola Vesta, and Carbyne APEX

Knowledge of cloud and networking technologies including: Firewalls (FortiGate), DNS, PKI, 4G/5G WAN (CradlePoint), ESXi, VMware, Azure WAN, AWS Cloud WAN, Terraform

Hands-on experience in server rooms (racking, cabling, equipment installation)

Test planning, test case development, execution, and reporting experience

Telephony experience (T1s, PRI circuits, TDM)

Protocol analysis and troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark, Agilent, or IRIS

Performance, load, and stability testing experience

Knowledge of NG911 and Emergency Services IP Networks (ESINet)
