Process Engineer
Confidential company is seeking a Process Engineer to play a critical role in improving safety, quality, and operational efficiency at their Stamford manufacturing facility. The role focuses on process improvement, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting to enhance product quality and operational performance.
Responsibilities
Serve as a key contributor, driving safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the Stamford facility
Own and support core manufacturing processes (e.g., casting, coating, annealing, mixing, and related operations)
Optimize process performance using Operational Excellence, Lean, and Six Sigma tools
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
Support and maintain compliance with all EHS, regulatory, site, and corporate requirements
Develop, maintain, and improve safety systems, procedures, and policies
Support emergency response activities, including startup and shutdown procedures
Ensure equipment, facilities, and capital projects meet all regulatory and site requirements
Complete required EHS and regulatory reporting accurately and on time
Support employee monitoring and industrial hygiene programs (hearing tests, air sampling, etc.)
Drive Lean initiatives in partnership with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and R&D
Evaluate material and formulation improvements; optimize cycles and reduce variation
Maintain critical process parameters to ensure product repeatability
Partner with Operations leadership to deliver improvements in yield, labor efficiency, cost, quality, and compliance
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 3 years of experience in process and equipment development within a manufacturing environment
Strong leadership presence with a data-driven mindset
Solid understanding of manufacturing systems and process controls
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to plan, execute, and evaluate process trials to reduce waste and variation
Ability to interpret EHS standards, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentations
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Preferred
Experience with Operational Excellence methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, ISO)
Experience with SAP or other manufacturing ERP systems
