Responsibilities

Oversees the facilities and custodial departments
Assist in all construction, maintenance, and renovation projects for adherence to governing construction building codes, quality, and procedural standards
Manage preventative maintenance of buildings and equipment, including safety items such as fire extinguishers and fire panels, while regularly inspecting campus buildings and facilities for maintenance issues
Supervise and perform mechanical, electrical, and plumbing duties for building and equipment as needed
Assist in coordinating various projects with other campus entities, including campus event setups and office moves
Coordinate the maintenance management system daily to ensure the timely completion of work orders
Verify and ensure correct building system operation daily and immediately respond to deficiencies
Understand and optimize building automation and HVAC settings, schedules and modes of operation for comfort and efficiency, including training of staff on operation of HVAC setpoints, including performing and delegating of quarterly RTU/HVAC inspection and filter changes
Create and maintain a safe and secure working environment by ensuring that all policies, procedures, and regulations are followed
Carry a two-way radio and respond to campus emergencies and assist as needed
Maintain adequate levels of maintenance supplies
Responsible for administrative tasks, including but not limited to timesheets, leave administration, project management, budget tracking, developing & managing spreadsheets or docs, and attending pre-& post-event meetings for campus-related events
Assist with general building and maintenance activities as needed, including painting, staining, carpentry, prep work, and maintenance of equipment and machinery
Perform and coordinate snow removal, salting of walkways, shoveling and being prepared for off-hours work during cold weather events are required for the safety and continuity of campus needs. Driving powered equipment is typically required to fulfill this duty
Coordinate and assist with office moves as needed

Required

Certification in Industrial Electricity or an Associate's degree required
Minimum 2 years of supervision experience required
Ability to perform the most complex maintenance duties and operate related equipment
Knowledge of the principles and practices of safety management
Ability to interpret and explain pertinent department policies and procedures
Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans, and specifications
Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal, while maintaining outstanding customer service
Must have a valid driver's license
Must have Fork Truck license or ability to achieve
Time management and organizational skills

Preferred

Bachelor's degree preferred
