Deputy Assistant Inspector General For Audit
USAJOBS is seeking a Deputy Assistant Inspector General For Audit at the Department of Housing and Urban Development Office of Inspector General, OIG, Office of Audit. In this role, you will provide leadership and coordination to promote efficiency and effectiveness in program administration while preventing and detecting fraud and abuse.

Responsibilities
Administer and oversee the work of the division and be held accountable for the success of the program's functions and activities
Serve as a principal advisor to the AIGA, providing technical capability for ensuring realistic and effective decisions in audit plans or matters resulting from audit performance or related to program oversight
Recommend policy based on thorough and expert knowledge of the Department's programs, professional experience, and educational background. Serve as the focal point for coordination with Departmental organizational units, other federal, state, and local government entities, and non-governmental organizations with respect to audit matters
Plan, conduct, supervise, and coordinate audits relating to the programs and operations of the Department through Field Offices
Serve as official liaison for the OIG on auditing matters with high-ranking officials from other federal audit agencies, OMB, state and local audit organizations, and CPA firms involved in HUD programs
Qualification
Required
Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of business law
A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor
Degree in accounting, auditing; or a degree including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting
At least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge
Demonstrated experience using expert knowledge of applicable professional auditing standards, concepts, and techniques
Demonstrated experience managing large oversight operations (production and staff resources) in high pressure environments
Demonstrated experience building partnerships across components and organizations in order to achieve appropriate outcomes
Basic Requirement - Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of progressively responsible leadership experience indicative of senior executive level managerial capability
Evidence must be provided that clearly demonstrates the applicant has the necessary level of executive potential, skills, abilities, specialized knowledge, and technical qualifications to perform as a SES executive
Demonstrated knowledge of the American system of government, commitment to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law, and commitment to serve the American people
Demonstrated ability to strategically and efficiently manage resources, budget effectively, cut wasteful spending, and pursue efficiency through process and technological upgrades
Demonstrated knowledge, ability, and technical competence to effectively and reliably produce work that is of exceptional quality
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a group toward meeting the organization's vision, mission, and goals, and to drive a high-performance, high-accountability culture
Demonstrated ability to achieve both individual and organizational results, and to align results to stated goals from superiors
